Houston Valve and Testing Co., Inc. is celebrating its 28th anniversary as a leading
supplier of fully tested and warranted, cast steel, iron, and stainless valves
manufactured for industry. Founded in 1972, Houston Valve and Testing stocks such names as
Crane, Powell, Vogt, Alloyco, Lunkenheimer, Pacific, ·Smith and Walworth, to name but a
few. Our inventory has grown to include all configurations, sizes, and pressures of gate,
globe and check ball and plug valves, in both domestic and import. This extensive
inventory and continuous monitorium of the market allows Houston Valve and Testing to
better meet its customers' needs for prompt service, especially the hard-to-find items.
In addition to this extensive inventory, Houston Valve and Testing has a complete valve
repair and modification facility capable of serving virtually all our customers' needs.
This capability includes, but is not limited to, trim changes, flange face conversion,
butt welding, tapping, by-pass installation, bonnet extension, and coating. Also, we
can adapt all valves for operator and actuator installation as well as install all types
of manual, electric, pneumatic and hydraulic actuators.
Valve repair capability is equally as extensive and includes repairing gates, globes,
checks, balls and plugs. This process involves disassembly, shot blasting, flange
refacing, stem cleaning and polishing, reseating, gasketing, packing, rebolting,
hydrostatic testing to manufacturers' specification, and painting. The specialized
machining and testing needed for this work is a matter of special pride to the company and
its staff. Along with other special equipment, we operate four Hydrostatic Testers,
which are specifically made for valve service. Houston Valve and Testing offers capable
and dependable work, fast turnaround, and warranted performance saving our customers time
and money. Typically valve repair costs less than half the cost of a new valve. Demanding
customers are our best references and many visits our plant for inspection tours and to
discuss the latest "state-of-the-art" in valve repair.

asset. Howard H. Louvier, president and founder of the company has 35 years experience in
meeting the challenge of supplying the petrochemical, refining, shipping, and oil
industries with all its valve and valve service needs.
His expertise in locating hard-to-find valves and his constant concern that no shipment
leaves his dock without proper quality control and testing has contributed significantly
to the success of this company. Experience and expertise is not limited to Mr. Louvier:
many plant and sales personnel have over 15 year experience in valve sales, repair and
modification.
